From Masako:

Whew! Finally, we have made it to Fukuno!

There were a few minor bumps here and there, but things have been generally going well.

We just finished the "Welcome Party" at Fukuno Elementary School. Our students did so well in the performance and in general.

The weather has been pretty good for "Rainy Season". It is suddenly humid here in Fukuno compared to Takayama and Gokayama, but we have been pretty lucky.

Everyone went off with their host families and they seem to have fun plans for the weekend.

This is it for now.

From Meg earlier today...

hi,
all is well. the kids are doing great noone seems at all homesick they started to get restless at the right moment when the homestays started. the plane flight was so easy all the kids did great - really great.
we had the fukuno welcome party yesterday the performance went well, the stage was small so i thought they did well considering. weather is ok, it has been raining at night so it is humid during the day but the sun hasnt come out much so it hasnt been so so hot. doesnt seem to stop the kids
the things we have been doing are amazing - also the onsen went fine for the boys and the girls - some have said it has been there favorite thing so far.

veronica is trying to send pictures to the website and will soon . can someone sent this to the google groups site so parents know everything is going well. they are doing great for 10 and 11 year old kids - i think im more homesick than they all are
i cant find some keys on the japanese keyboard so bare with the typing.

take care meg
